Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea is a severe sleeping disorder more common in men. In this ailment, the persons breathing stops and starts several times while sleeping. Age factor and excess weight or obesity are the primary causes of this disorder. If you snore extremely loud and feel tired even after a good sleep, then know that you need to get yourself checked. If these symptoms occur just a few times, then there is nothing to worry about. But if it becomes the daily thing and sometimes you choke while breathing, then visit a doctor. A health device called Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) is utilized for treating sleep apnea. It generates air pressure through a mask and allows upper airway passage open for proper breathing. There are other airway pressure devices available too. If none of the options works for you, the doctor may suggest you undergo surgery on a particular affected area. If you have mild sleep apnea, then a few changes in your lifestyle can lead to significant differences. Maintaining your weight, being overweight is one of the major causes of the disorder. Try doing yoga or meditation and stay away from alcohol and smoking. And lastly, try to alter your sleeping position.
